Motorola Moto G9 Plus Design

The Moto G9 Plus is an evolution of the Moto G8 Plus design, with the rounded corners and curves to the phone’s rear remaining in place, while the cameras move into a retangular block, a bit like we’ve seen from Samsung and others in 2020.

There is no more fingerprint scanner on the back, this moves in the Moto G9 Plus to the side of the phone and the new model switches to a punch hole design for a more modern look.

On the left side of the smartphone there’s a Google Assistant button and the Moto G9 Plus suits the series’ previous handsets, offering a plastic design to maintain the high price point.

The Moto G9 Plus has a water repellant design and comes in Navy Blue and Blush Gold.

Motorola Moto G9 Plus Display

The Moto G9 Plus comes with the biggest display so far on a Moto G unit, offering a huge Max Vision 6.8-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9.

It provides a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels for 387ppi pixel density and it comes with support for HDR10. As mentioned above, the top left corner contains a punch hole front camera, offering a closer design in line with many other smartphones in 2020.

The Moto G9 Plus runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 G processor-i.e. 4 G-backed by 4 GB Memory, which is the same as the Moto G8 Plus processor. However, there is 128 GB of ram, which is twice that of the G8 Plus, and there is microSD support for up to 512 GB of storage expansion.

We would have liked to see the Snapdragon 690 on board, which provides built-in 5 G, but unfortunately this is not the case and instead the Moto G 5 G remains for now the only smartphone with 5 G capabilities in the Moto G range.

The Moto G9 Plus has a massive 5000mAh capacity in terms of power, with 30W fast charging.

Motorola Moto G9 Plus Cameras

In a rectangular block the Motorola Moto G9 Plus features a quad camera at the rear.

It is composed of a 64-megapixel Quad Pixel main sensor (f/1.8, 1.6μm) with Night Vision, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor with a field of view of 118 degrees (f/2.2, 1.12μm), a 2-megapixel macro sensor (f/2.2, 1.75μm) and a 2-megapixel depth sensor (f/2.2, 1.75μm).

There is a 16-megapixel Quad Pixel sensor on the top, with an f/2.0 aperture.
